In line with the pronouncement of President Rodrigo Roa Duterte, the DOTr-LTO has issued Administrative Order No. 2016-34, which became effective 08 October 2016, extending the validity of Driver's Licenses and Conductor's Licenses to five (5) years.

However, due to system adjustment, the processing of the licenses with five (5)-year validity shall be made in batches, under the following schedule:

Licenses processed prior to the scheduled date shall have a three (3)-year validity period. Moreover, fees and charges for drivers licenses and conductors licenses are as follows:

NEW LICENSE
         Application Fee  -  P 100.00
         Computer Fee  -  P 67.63

         License Fee  -  P 585.00
         Computer Fee  -  P 67.63

RENEWAL
         License Fee  -  P 585.00
         Computer Fee  -  P 67.63

The public is further informed that the LTO has also opened two (2) Drivers License Renewal Offices (DLRO) at the Ground Floor of SM Mall Annex along EDSA in Quezon City, and at the 3rd Floor of Lucky Chinatown Annex B in Binondo, Manila, in an effort to bring government services closer to the people. This brings to 26 the number of DLROs in Metro Manila.
