Land
Transportation
Office
(LTO)
Chief
Assec.
Reynaldo
I.
Berroya
announced
that
it
is
all
systems
go
for
the
LTO
E-Patrol.
According
to
Berroya,
the
project
aims
to
bring
the
services
of
the
LTO
such
as
license
renewal,
issuance
of
student
permits
and
motor
vehicle
registration
renewals
closer
to
its
clients
by
fielding
a
fleet
of
fully
functional
and
customized
buses
that
are
equipped
with
the
necessary
computer
equipment
and
communications
link
to
the
main
LTO
data
banks.
Virtually,
these
are
mobile
one-stop-shops,
he
said.
The
project
target
is
for
the
LTO
to
field
16
LTO
E-Patrol
buses
nationwide,
or
one
LTO
E-Patrol
bus
for
every
region.
An
E-Patrol
bus
is
presently
serving
the
Metro
Manila
area.
The
LTO
is
expected
to
commission
another
two
LTO
E-Patrol
buses
within
the
next
month
and
the
remaining
13
LTO
E-Patrols
shall
be
mobilized
by
the
year
2007.
Berroya
added
that
the
LTO
E-Patrols
will
be
fielded
in
far
flung
areas
nationwide
such
as
remote
barrios,
which
can
be
readily
accessed
through
mobile
operations.
Berroya
mentioned
that
aside
from
being
fully
air-conditioned
mobile
office,
E-Patrols
will
also
have
provisions
for
secured
storage
of
accountable
items
and
files.
Vaults
will
also
be
put
in
place
to
secure
collections
and
fully
functional
toilets
will
be
provided
to
serve
the
requirements
for
drug
test.
What
is
noteworthy
is
that
the
LTO
E-Patrol
inspite
of
being
mobile
is
capable
of
being
connected
to
the
LTO
central
database
on
real
time
with
technology
supplied
by
the
Stradcom
Corporation.
The
Stradcom
system
ensures
database
integrity
and
completeness
of
the
LTO
database.
Berroya
explained
that
LTO
E-Patrol,
is
perhaps
the
first
full
scale
mobile
government
office
that
will
demonstrate
a
modern
and
seamless
outlook
in
customer
care
and
public
service.
The
new
program
will
strengthen
the
LTO
database
integrity
and
ensure
the
completeness
of
database
by
capturing
transactions
that
otherwise
would
have
not
been
included.
The
contract
for
the
E-Patrol
project
was
signed
by
Secretary
Leandro
R.
Mendoza
for
the
DOTC
LTO
and
Mr.
Cezar
T.
Quiambao
for
the
Stradcom
Corporation.
